The Alliance Française de Penang, participating in the Georgetown Festival, is glad to invite you to the opening exhibition of "Photography of Penang", by Halim Berbar. He is a famous French photographer, war reporter, and journalist. He has been living in Asia for twenty years. He co-wrote a book about Penang, Penang Heritage House and he will be in Alliance Française to sign the book. A selection of twenty photography of Penang will be shown from July 17th to July 31st 2010.
A cocktail will be served for the opening ceremony.

L'Alliance Française de Penang, participant au Georgetown Festival, a le plaisir de vous inviter à l'ouverture de l'exposition "Photographies de Penang", prises par Halim Berbar. C'est un photographe français célèbre, reporter de guerre, et journaliste. Il vit en Asie depuis vingt ans. Il a co-écrit un livre sur Penang, Penang Heritage House et sera à l'Alliance Française lors de l'ouverture de l'exposition pour dédicacer son livre. Une sélection de vingt photographies sera exposée du 17 au 31 juillet 2010.
Un cocktail sera servi lors de l'ouverture de l'exposition.

Rules:
- Send two pictures to AFP (JPEG - 1mo max with 1500 x 2100 pix and 72 DPI max for preselection and 3500 x 4700 pix and 300 DPI for the final selection).
- Win a week in Paris (the winner will be selected amongst the candidates chosen by the AF around the world by the AF Paris, the 20 best contesters will have their work exhibited in Paris and in the Courrier International newspaper).
- The photographs should be sent to AFP before August 1st 2010.
- Results will be published after September 17th 2010 on www.fondation-alliancefr.org
- The candidates cannot be professional photographers.
- 1 candidate from Penang will be selected.
- 40 pieces will be selected by the Alliance Française foundation in Paris.
- Pre-selection September 8th 2010.
- Results will be published after September 17th 2010 on www.fondation-alliancefr.org
- The candidates cannot be professional photographers.
- The persons photographed must give their approval.
- Photographs of buildings, branded furniture and clothes must be free of rights.
- The photographs will not show any brand of alcohol or tobacco.
